Employer
Under deductions, you will notice that it is listed according to what the employee and the employer each pay. The District (employer) pays into Medicare, STRS (your retirement system), SUI, Workers Comp., CVT (which is your health benefits), and The Standard (which is a life insurance policy on you for $25,000.
California Teachers Assn. (CTA)
Some deductions you may have are your Union dues listed as “California Teachers Assn.”, just because you have this deduction does not mean you are a member of CTA and our local YCTA. You would have filled in a membership form.
Conseco Health Ins. Co.
Some other deductions you may have may be The Standard under the employee column. This may be because you have bought additional life insurance. “Conseco Health Ins. Co.” is an additional policy you may have for cancer insurance, ICU insurance, etc. (Other companies also sell additional insurance policies.)
Standard Ins. Life/Dis./AD&D 10P
If “Standard Ins. Life/Dis/AD&D” is listed, then you have purchased the optional Disability insurance through the Standard. This pay stub shows that it is paid tenthly (10P) but it may be paid monthly (12P). This insurance is only available to CTA members.
YCTA PAC
If you have “YCTA PAC” listed on your pay stub, then you are having an automatic withdrawal from your check as an YCTA Political Action Contribution. The amount can vary and a simple form obtained from the YCTA office will start this deduction.
YCUSD CVT Section 125 Medical
If you have “YCUSD CVT Section 125 Medical” on your pay stub, this represents the monthly amount you are paying for your medical benefits above the amount paid for be the District. This amount changed as of October 2009 due to the increase in benefits.
