- The State of California projects additional increase in funding for the 16/17 school year.
- On 9/11 YCTA proposed a 15% pay increase to make progress towards competitive salaries to attract and retain highly qualified educators and teachers.
- On 10/13 YCUSD brought nothing to the table in response to our proposal.
- Today YCUSD presented a package with a 1% salary increase for 15/16 and a 1% salary increase for 16/17. (Neither side has opened 16/17)
- The package proposal included an additional 40 hours of work time for collaboration in 16/17 and beyond.
- The additional 40 hours is equal to 3.14 % on the Teacher’s Salary Schedule.
- In addition, they significantly increased instructional minutes for 16 /17 and beyond.
The District’s proposal represents the equivalent of at least 1.14% pay cut for all YCTA unit members. Your Bargaining Team needs you to show up Nov. 3rd at 5:15 PM and stay for the brief presentation to the Board at 5:30 PM.
