YCTA: See you MONDAY

Hello,

Thank you to all who gathered with us today at YCHS.  Over 120 of you were able to get away from other commitments today, but we know there were multiple conflicts.  We discussed the past, present and future for YCTA and YCUSD as well as implications for bargaining, benefits and salaries.  Such as the proposal from the District for salary CUTS THIS YEAR if Prop 30: Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act does not pass.  That is a proposal to cut five instructional days this year (2.75%) and perhaps more.....  And we shared more....

Did you miss it?   Well, our next step is to travel to you.  There are twelve members of the Exec Bd, Bargaining and Organizing Team.  Each of us will be on the move Monday (9/24) to meet our members at twelve different sites.  Our task is to briefly share the info from today AND to LISTEN TO YOU.  Our next steps will be planned based upon your message to us.  Be sure we hear from you.  There are hand-outs and feedback forms.

Monday Sept 24 is a YCTA EXCLUSIVE MONDAY.  There should be no conflicts with YCUSD events.  We hope that we will be able to meet with all of you.  With only twelve of us though, we had to double up a few sites (Albert Powell at April Lane, Lincrest at Lincoln, CG at Barry, and YC Alternative at YCHS ). We hope some of you won't mind a little travel.

Watch for an email from your site rep with time and room as well as an email from a member of YCTA leadership who will be coming to a room near YOU on MONDAY.

Thank you again.  I appreciate the opportunity to see so many of you today, though I did not have the opportunity to greet each of you.

See you soon, Dina
