What should be the priorities of our district?

YCTA is seeking the input of the educational professionals that directly serve students as we develop the YCTA position on the priorities for our District.  The decision making in our district should be guided by a clear set of priorities.  Our board is developing those priorities and our input is valuable in this process.

Please consider the open-ended prompt:

What should be the priorities of our school district?

We recognize that this is a widely open-ended prompt, but we are seeking the diversity of ideas from you - the people serving students directly in the classrooms of our district.  Once we have assembled these diverse ideas, we can refine our message and seek additional input.

Your site rep will gather the responses of your site and ask you to attend a short meeting to discuss the responses and seek some common perspectives to share for your site at Rep Council on December 12.

At Rep Council, we will further refine the YCTA position and bring it back to you.  We want to hear from you as the district moves forward to establish priorities and a strategic plan that will guide the budget and planning process for the next 3-5 years.  Please be sure that the district plan includes the perspective of the people working directly with students.  Your insight should play a fundamental role in the decisions made that impact our students.

Take a few moments to share your thoughts with your site rep.  YCTA greatly values the insight and expertise of our members as we work daily with our students.  Please be assured your ideas will be compiled and considered as we build a big picture response.

Don't forget to join us at the Happy Viking tomorrow afternoon.  This is an opportunity to build the relationships that make our union strong.  Together we are more empowered to make a difference.

Thank you for all you do,
