CVT rates for 2012-2013

We have received the 2012-2013 rates from CVT (certificated medical insurance carrier) and there is a significant increase to our rates.

This from CVT:  The main reason for this increase is that periodically CVT's regional "boundaries" are reviewed and changes made to more closely align the CVT rates to the cost which vary significantly between geographies.  A review was just completed and the observed difference of geographic costs for CVT's regions is in excess of 30%.  Based on the results of the review, the costs in Sutter and Yuba counties are significantly higher than other counties in Region 1; therefore, a new region has been established.  Yuba and Sutter Counties will become a new Region 11 more accurately allocating cost.  Translation: the cost of providing medical care for members in our area is more expensive than else where.  That is likely due to a much higher usage as well as higher provider costs in our area.  So, we have been placed into our own region.

We will need to notify CVT of any changes for plan modifications by August 15th.  We have and will continue to explore possible options that may be available before this deadline.  Below are approximate rates and costs above the CAP for our current plans including medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
