About YCTA

History

Yuba City Teachers Association (YCTA), formerly known as YCUEA, has been representing the certificated non-administrative employees of Yuba City Unified School District since 1968.  YCTA is a strong and united voice, representing and advocating for over 700 teachers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, speech/language pathologists, and pre-school teachers. Our Executive Board is comprised of seven elected bargaining unit members. Our Representative Council consists of elected site representatives from our 16 school sites in the Yuba City Unified School District. The board and representatives form the backbone of our membership network of educational professionals. These elected representatives promote members ideas and are the influential voice that shapes our association of united education professionals.  YCTA is proud to be affiliated with the California Teachers Association and the National Education Association.

The California Teachers Association represents and serves more than 340,000 members, consisting of teachers and other education employees. CTA exists to protect and promote the well-being of its members; to improve the conditions of teaching and learning; to advance the cause of free, universal, and quality public education; to ensure that the human dignity and civil rights of all children and youth are protected; and to secure a more just, equitable, and democratic society.
